Folk Art
Connection through Creation is a Powerful Force
In an effort to connect with my Norwegian heritage I have followed in my Grandma’s footsteps to learn the art of Rosemaling.
Rosemaling is the Norwegian folk art that draws inspiration from the Baroque style of the 1600’s and the Roccoco style of the 1700’s, that evolved to various different painting styles throughout Norway to decorate homes with paintings of beautiful flowers, leaves, and flowing scrolls.
While traditionally an oil painting practice, I am exploring this art form while using acrylic paints. I am excited to continue to grow my skills as an artist while painting beautiful pieces of my heritage with my Grandma.
